• What size of project do you take on?
The projects can range from as little as designing a retail cashier unit to designing and project managing for a facility costing 0.5m upwards.
• How do we employ your services?
Contact me by phone or e mail and then we can discuss your requirements and go from there.
• Where does most of your work come from?
The vast majority of my work comes from referrals and introductions from existing clients.
• We have a project that is not big enough to employ an Architect but needs Listed Building and Planning Applications.
We recently completed successful applications on behalf of a client, through York City Council via their internet planning portal.
• We have a project that is not big enough to employ Mechanical & Electrical Consultants but needs technical expertise.
The service requirements in Kitchens, for example, are involved and varied .We have the relevant expertise to ensure technical issues are addressed.
• Would Cooper8 act as CDM co-ordinator on a project?
In principle, yes. We are members of the BSC. However, if a project does need to be notified, we recommend employing a specialist H&S coordinator.
• We have a new Retail concept for are shop. Are you able to design and provide working drawings for the units.
We can design and detail units and their fittings .These can then be manufactured to specification. We recommend that mock up units are built for approval prior to the final build.
• We have a Catering Facility and hope to develop a Retail Outlet on the same premises. Does your expertise cover both areas?
The principles of design and use of space are within both disciplines, whilst each area has its own particular issues. We are able to bring expertise in both Catering and Retail, to come up with the best combined solutions for our clients.
• We have a Shop that is too warm in the summer and think we may have to install air-conditioning?
Whilst air-conditioning is used extensively it is sometimes difficult to site the condensing units in appropriate places .There are a number of ways of passively ventilating an area and also to reduce heat gain. Both these solutions would be much cheaper for you and could easily improve the situation.
