In the public sector, a well thought out kitchen or dining room layout goes beyond function. Working with universities, schools, hospitals, and care facilities, we focus on designing spaces that support health and wellbeing. Canteens no longer need to feel institutional; they can be vibrant, welcoming spaces that uplift and inspire – or calm, serene areas that offer a place to relax and recharge. We understand the benefits of biophilic design – in short, the incorporation of natural elements and a connection to nature for health and wellbeing – and integrate these principles where they align with our clients’ goals. This results in rejuvenating environments that support physical and mental wellbeing.

In addition to a welcoming front of house, we create ergonomic and efficient back of house areas to support smooth operations and ease of use by staff. By carefully planning layout and flow, we design spaces that make daily routines as seamless as possible, benefitting everyone involved. From school cafeterias to healthcare dining areas, our approach is thoughtful, functional, and always rooted in the idea that wellbeing should be at the heart of every space. As framework consultants for Enfield Council and trusted partners of institutions such as St Mary’s Cambridge and NHS East Sussex, we’re proud to bring this approach to projects of all scales and settings.
