Spanning two generations, over 20 years’ experience, 100s of projects, and expansion in service, it was about time for Cooper8 to have a brand identity refresh, along with a new website.
And with this exciting new brand identity, we have decided to start a blog. Why? Simply because we are truly passionate about everything we do and find all our ventures truly interesting, and hope you do too!
We will be diving into everything that inspires us – from restaurant reviews to the books we can’t put down, from design history to quirky details that spark our creativity – we can’t wait to get stuck in.
Here goes, our first blog post, let’s kick things off with a proper introduction! And how better to do that than by showcasing our new branding …
Looking at branding for your own company is incredibly difficult. When we first considered re-branding, we didn’t consider the hours of self-reflection that would be required – how on earth would we create a visual identity for ourselves when what we do is so broad? The functional and technical side of kitchen designing – CAD drawings, ventilation extract rates, health and safety regulations – to the interior design side of restaurant designing – exciting colour schemes, unique furniture selections, creative lighting schemes.
As a family business, it was great to have this opportunity to talk about what it is we feel our values are, as they will be inevitably different to some bigger less impersonal businesses. We looked out our passion, how we each individually bring a rich variety of knowledge and interests to the table – culinary, art, history, music – you name it, at least one of us will be interested in it. All these interests really allow us to bring depth to our projects and it is this that sets us apart in the design world, not simply our in-depth technical design knowledge.
A word that kept coming up again and again in this process was collaboration – bringing us back to why we initially named ourselves Cooper8 (a clever play on Managing Director Simons’ middle name Cooper and the word Co-operate).
We truly believe in ‘co-operate’ – collaboration and co-operation are crucial in design projects
- Collaboration brings together diverse talents, experiences, and perspectives. This diversity can lead to more innovative and well-rounded solutions.
- Each stakeholder brings a unique understanding of the project, co-operating with stakeholders allows for a more holistic understanding of goals, constraints, and possibilities, ensuring the final design is comprehensive and aligned with the overall vision.
- Complex design challenges often arise during projects, a collaborative approach can lead to more effective solutions.
- We communicate well as a team to streamline the design process; this allows us to always hit our targets without misunderstanding and delay.
- Collaboration with the Client ensures that the design aligns closely with the client’s vision and requirements. Regular communication and input from all parties guarantee client satisfaction.
- Most importantly, the Cooper8 team collaboration provides learning opportunities and exposure to different perspectives and approaches. The Cooper8 Ltd team members are always seeking professional enhancement and development, contributing to a more skilled and capable design team over time.
